When Systemic Family Therapy is not recommended?

Psychotherapy is an ongoing process and you need to be motivated for changes in your life. It goes with the obligation that we will meet on the agreed rhythm and both of us are responsible in therapy.

Contraindications for family psychotherapy include (in addition to insufficient motivation)

• suicidality

• acute psychotic conditions

• acute alcoholism

• and substance abuse, which must first be treated clinically to access later psychotherapy.

Family system psychotherapy cannot provide crisis intervention in acute situations but I can help you to find first professional help for acute crisis and then we can deal with psychotherapy.
